I have been running with ESET server & endpoint protection at some of my sites combined with additional network gateway security solutions for years without problems.įor us correctly configured ESS V8 runs unnoticed in the background providing an excellent protection layer, taking unwanted “guess work” decisions away from the end user. The average home user adopting sensible security precautions / guidelines will receive very good protection with most of the free / paid products from the major AV vendors running on default settings. One has to look at the total package offering over a period of time & not just one area tested on that day.

Much depends on how you judge third party reviews, along with how the tested product was configured & realistic malware samples thrown at it. I was looking a reviews for ESET at work and it is not doing so well in the reviews.
